Demonstration notice
Everything this build invents, everything it does not do, and every integration that is missing — in one place.
This is not a real shop
[BRAND NAME] does not exist. Nothing on this site can be bought, no payment can be taken, no order is created and no email is sent. If you reached this site expecting to buy a saree, you cannot — and we would rather say that once, plainly, than bury it.
What is sample content
Everything in this list was written for the demonstration and describes nothing real:
- All 1461 products — names, descriptions, prices, compositions, measurements, stock levels and provenance notes.
- Business identity — the studio address in Leicester, the email address, the phone number, the VAT number.
- Fulfilment data — handling times, carrier names, transit times, delivery prices and the bank-holiday list.
- Policies — delivery, returns, terms, privacy and cookies are drafts marked for business and legal review.
- Discount codes and the three sample orders on the tracking page.
- Postcode lookup results — a handful of hard-coded postcodes, not a real address service.
Wherever invented content could be mistaken for a business fact, the interface marks it: Sample content
About the imagery
The saree catalogue uses photographs of the actual SS-numbered inventory. Product cards, galleries, homepage editorial panels and occasion tiles all use the same local supplier-photo library. The retired Wikimedia reference photographs and generated saree illustrations are no longer used for catalogue items.
The photographs support visual descriptions such as color, motif and border. They do not prove fibre composition, weaving method, dimensions or provenance, so those fields remain explicitly unconfirmed until supplier data is available. See product imagery for the inventory-image workflow.
Integrations not connected
| Integration | State | What stands in for it |
|---|---|---|
| Payments | Not connected | No card form exists. A hosted provider element would mount at checkout; a demonstration panel shows where. |
| Order management | Not connected | Orders are written to your browser's session storage so confirmation and tracking have something to display. |
| Inventory | Not connected | Stock states are static fields in the catalogue. A demonstration control on the checkout page simulates stock running out. |
| Accounts and authentication | Not connected | Everything works as a guest. The wishlist lives in browser storage. |
| Address lookup | Not connected | Seven hard-coded postcodes, with manual entry always available as the fallback. |
| Reviews | Not connected | Nothing. The slot is built and left visibly empty rather than filled with invented testimonials. |
| Not connected | Nothing is sent. The contact form validates and then tells you it went nowhere. | |
| Analytics | Not connected | No tracking scripts, no cookies set, no third-party requests of any kind. |
Cookies actually set: none
This build sets no cookies and makes no third-party requests. There is no consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. The cookies page is a draft of what would be needed once analytics or payments are added. The bag and wishlist use your browser's local storage, which stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.
How it is built
- Static HTML generated by a small Node script. No framework, no runtime dependencies, no build toolchain beyond Node itself.
- One stylesheet, a handful of ES modules, self-hosted variable fonts under the SIL Open Font License.
- The 2,668 inventory photographs are emitted as web-sized WebP files and lazy-loaded below the fold. The full-resolution originals remain outside the build.
- Delivery dates, totals and validation come from one shared module used by both the build and the browser, so pages cannot disagree with each other.
