About this saree
A petticoat does two jobs: it stops a sheer saree being see-through, and it gives the pleats something to grip. This one is A-line so it does not restrict your stride, cut 105cm from waist to hem, with both elastic and a drawstring so you can set the waist exactly where you want the saree to sit.

What we would tell you in the shop
Cotton grips better than satin, which is what you want for a slippery saree. Buy it in a colour close to the saree.
Styling: Ivory under pale sarees, black under dark ones, and a deliberate contrast under anything sheer.
Care and storage
Machine wash at 40°C. Warm iron.
- Store folded in a breathable cotton or muslin bag, never in plastic — trapped damp is what yellows silk.
- Refold along different lines once a year so permanent creases do not set into the same place.
- Blot spills, never rub. Rubbing lifts the surface fibres and leaves a dull patch.
