About this saree
Satin does the opposite of cotton: it lets the saree move over it. With a heavy Kanjivaram or Paithani that is exactly right, because the weight of the silk holds the pleats and you want the fabric to fall rather than catch.

What we would tell you in the shop
Do not use satin under chiffon or a light georgette. Two slippery layers and nothing will stay put.
Styling: Champagne under gold and ivory sarees, black under everything dark.
Care and storage
Hand wash cold. Cool iron.
- Store folded in a breathable cotton or muslin bag, never in plastic — trapped damp is what yellows silk.
- Refold along different lines once a year so permanent creases do not set into the same place.
- Blot spills, never rub. Rubbing lifts the surface fibres and leaves a dull patch.
