This is an unstitched saree, so there is no dress size.

It arrives as a single length of cloth — 5.5 metres long and 110cm wide — that you pleat and drape to your own height. One length fits everybody; what changes is how many pleats you make and where the falls.

Nothing here is added unless you choose it. Each one adds to the price, adds working days before dispatch, and changes what can be returned — all shown before you tick it.

A cotton tape (the fall) is sewn inside the bottom edge so the pleats hang straight, and the raw edges are finished with a narrow rolled hem (pico).

Returns: Not returnable once stitched, because the fabric is cut and sewn.

We cut and stitch the included blouse piece to your measurements. You choose a neckline and sleeve length, and give us five measurements.

Returns: Not returnable once stitched, unless the finished blouse does not match the measurements you gave us.

We pre-pleat the saree, stitch it onto a fitted waistband with a concealed zip, and set the pallu so it stays in place. You step into it.

Returns: Not returnable once converted, unless the finished garment does not match the measurements you gave us.

  • Sarees that have had fall and pico stitching applied, because the fabric has been cut and sewn.
  • Blouses stitched to your measurements.
  • Ready-to-wear conversions made to your measurements.
  • Pierced jewellery and unsealed cosmetics, on hygiene grounds.

None of this affects your legal rights. If an item arrives faulty or not as described you can return it for a full refund, including any tailoring charge.

Never draped one before

How you would actually put this on

Five steps, in the order you do them. This fabric is forgiving, so the first attempt usually takes about ten minutes.

Full draping guide

Petticoat and blouse first

Put on the fitted blouse and the petticoat, tied at the height you want the saree hem to sit — just off the floor in the shoes you will wear.

Tuck and go round once

Tuck the plain end into the petticoat at your right hip and wrap the whole saree once around yourself.

Make five to seven pleats

Gather even pleats at the front, hold them together, and tuck the whole bundle into the waistband facing left.

Pallu over the shoulder, pin

Take the remaining length across your front, up over the left shoulder, and pin it at the shoulder seam of the blouse — not through the saree alone.
